What Goblet Pleat Drapes Do
Goblet pleat drapes are known for their deep, rounded pleats that resemble a wine glass. This pleat style creates a full, structured look that’s ideal for formal spaces like dining rooms, living rooms, or bedrooms. These drapes add height and elegance to your windows, creating a polished, sophisticated appearance.
You can use them on their own or pair them with other treatments like sheers or shades. Goblet pleats help with light control, offer privacy, and can be lined for a fuller, more dramatic look.

How to Measure for Goblet Pleat Drapes
Step 1: Measure the Length - Drop
If using rings, measure from the bottom of the ring.
If using a track, measure from the bottom of the glider.
If hanging directly from a rod, measure from the top of the rod.
Then measure down to where you want your drapes to end:
- For window sill length: Measure to the windowsill and subtract 0.4 inches for clearance.
- For apron length: Measure about 4-6 inches below the sill.
- For floor-length: Measure to the floor and subtract 0.4 inches to prevent dragging.
- For full wall coverage: Measure from just below the ceiling to the floor, subtracting 0.4 inches for a clean finish.
If the rod or track isn’t installed yet, estimate about 6 inches above the window frame or higher if you want full wall coverage.
Step 2: Measure the Width of Your Window
Measure the width of your window recess and add 6-8 inches on each side. This gives the drapes space to stack neatly and allows the pleats to hold their structure.
Step 3: Measure Your Curtain Pole or Track
- For a track: Measure the full length from one end to the other.
- For a pole: Measure between the finials.
Goblet pleated drapes require extra fullness. Multiply your track or pole width by 2 to 2.5 to ensure the pleats form properly and hold their shape.
Step 4: Double-Check Your Measurements
Double-check all measurements before placing your order. Proper sizing ensures your goblet pleat drapes hang beautifully and maintain their sculpted, elegant look.
