Clean, Sharp Pleats for a Modern Look
Knife Pleat Roman Shades are a classic window treatment that creates clean, sharp pleats when lowered. The back of each shade features doweled pockets, which help form neat, structured seams on the front for a polished and refined look.
These shades work well in living rooms, where they can provide a polished, sophisticated look. In bedrooms, they create a simple, elegant feel, and in dining rooms, they add a refined touch. Pair with blinds, sheers, or curtains for a complete window treatment.

How to Measure for Knife Pleat Shade
How to Measure for Inside Mount
Inside mounted shades are installed inside the window frame, giving a sleek, clean look. Here’s how to measure for an inside mount:
- Measure the depth of your window frame from the front of the opening to the glass to ensure it meets the minimum depth requirement.
- Measure the width of the window at the top, middle, and bottom. Use the narrowest measurement as your window’s width.
- Measure the height of the window at the left, center, and right. Use the tallest measurement as your window’s height.
Order at the exact opening size — no deductions are needed; the factory will take care of adjustments.
Tip: Double-check that your measurements follow the width by height format (W x H).
How to Measure for Outside Mount
Outside mounted shades are installed above the window frame, allowing the shades to cover a larger area. Here’s how to measure for an outside mount:
- Check the mounting requirements for your Knife Pleat Shades to ensure enough flat surface for hardware.
- Measure the width from the far edges of your window trim (or add 2–3 inches on each side for better coverage if there’s no trim).
- Measure the height starting from the desired top of the window to the bottom where you want the shades to hang. If you want more coverage, add a few extra inches above the window.
Order at the exact size — your shade will be made to the specified dimensions.
Tip: Double-check that your measurements follow the width by height format (W x H).
