What are Nailhead Cornices?
Nailhead cornices are upholstered boards that sit above your window. They hide hardware and are a great finishing touch for your draperies. The nailhead trim adds detail and style, from classic to bold, depending on your fabric and finish choice.
These cornices can be used on their own or with curtains, sheers, or shades. They add height, cover rods, and are suitable for many rooms, including living rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas.

How to Measure for Nailhead Cornices
Measure the Window Width
Measure the width of the window at the top, middle, and bottom of the frame. Use the widest measurement for the cornice width.
Determine the Cornice Height
Decide how tall you want the cornice to be. Typically, cornices are between 6–12 inches high, but this can vary based on the design and the space.
Measure the Window Height (Optional)
If your cornice will cover the top of the window, measure from the top of the window frame to where you want the cornice to end.
Tip: Double-check your measurements in width by height (W x H) format to ensure accuracy.
