Soft, Lightweight Drapes for a Bright, Open Feel
Sheer draperies use light, see-through fabric that gently filters sunlight and offers privacy. They work well in bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, and any room where you want soft light and a clean, airy feel.
You can use sheer drapes on their own or layer them with blinds, shades, or heavier curtains. They help reduce glare, soften window lines, and bring a finished look without blocking light.

How to Measure for Sheer Draperies
Step 1: Measure the Length - Drop
If using rings, measure from the bottom of the ring.
If using a track, measure from the bottom of the glider.
If hanging directly from a rod, measure from the top of the rod.
Then measure to your preferred curtain length:
- Window sill: Measure to the sill and subtract 0.4 inches.
- Apron: Measure 4-6 inches below the sill.
- Floor-length: Measure to the floor and subtract 0.4 inches.
- Full wall coverage: Measure from just below the ceiling to the floor, subtracting 0.4 inches.
If the hardware isn’t installed yet, use 6 inches above the window as a general guideline.
Step 2: Measure the Width of Your Window
Measure the width of the window recess and add 6-8 inches on each side. Multiply by 2 to 2.5 for the light, full look typical of sheer drapes.
Step 3: Measure Your Curtain Rod or Track
- For a track: Measure its full length.
- For a pole: Measure between the finials.
Step 4: Double-Check Your Measurements
Review your numbers before ordering. Correct sizing helps sheer drapes hang smoothly and maintain a graceful, flowing appearance.
