Casual, Relaxed Drapes
Tab and tie top drapes feature fabric loops (tabs) or fabric ties that hang from a curtain rod. This style gives a casual, easygoing feel while providing a clean, finished appearance. The loops or ties allow for easy hanging and a soft, flowing look.
These drapes are great for living rooms, bedrooms, or dining rooms, where you want a simple, stylish window treatment. They pair well with other window treatments like sheers, blinds, or shades for more privacy or light control.

How to Measure for Tab and Tie Top Drapes
Step 1: Measure the Length - Drop
- Measure from the very top of the rod to where you want your drapes to end.
- For window sill length, measure down to the windowsill and subtract 0.4 inches for clearance.
- For apron length, measure about 4–6 inches below the sill.
- For floor-length, measure down to the floor and subtract 0.4 inches to prevent dragging.
- For full wall coverage, measure from just below the ceiling down to the floor. Subtract 0.4 inches for a clean finish.
- If the rod isn’t installed yet, you can estimate about 6 inches above the window frame, or higher if you want full wall coverage.
Step 2: Measure the Width of Your Window
Measure the width of your window recess and add 6–8 inches on each side. This ensures the drapes fully cover the window and stack neatly when open.
Step 3: Measure Your Curtain Rod
Measure the full width of the rod, not including any decorative finials at the ends. Plan to use about 1.5 to 2 times the rod width in fabric for a nicely gathered, full look.
Step 4: Double-Check Your Measurements
Double-check all measurements before placing your order. Accurate sizing ensures your tab and tie top drapes hang beautifully and fit your space perfectly.
